God’s plan for salvation includes every man, woman and child who ever lived or will live. The truth of His plan is an antidote for the fears and uncertainties that grip society.
When Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s commandment in the Garden of Eden, they fell under the foretold sentence of death (Genesis 2:17, 3:17-19). This sentence carried forward to Adam and Eve’s offspring, into every generation of mankind since. It is the reason why people have died throughout all of mankind’s history, and it is the reason why people continue to die today.
However, it was never God’s plan for mankind to remain in this helpless state. In the fullness of God’s time, Jesus, God’s only begotten Son, offered his perfect human life in payment for the long-ago disobedience of Adam (John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:21-22, 1 Timothy 2:5-6). Jesus’ sacrifice provides a path to salvation for those who respond to it now, in the present; and a future path to salvation for ALL mankind!
