“Passover to Easter – What’s the Connection?”

Most Christians know that Easter is meant to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. They may also know why our Jewish friends celebrate Passover; that it is a remembrance of Israel’s deliverance from slavery in Egypt. But some may not be aware that there is a wonderful connection between these two important events?
Jesus’ earthly ministry was filled with opposition and hatred. He was put to death with great cruelty and suffering. His disciples were bewildered by his death and utterly lost their direction. But three days later, Jesus was in their midst once again and things became clear to them. His resurrection demonstrated that God was pleased with every aspect of his life and that his death was a vital part of God’s plan. Jesus’ reward was well deserved and will soon fulfill the promise made to Abraham so long ago of blessing all the families of the earth (Genesis 12:3).
