Who We Are

We are Christian Bible Students.

We accept Christ as our personal Savior and believe he died not only for Christians, but for all the world.

We accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God and study it in its entirety, both the Old and the New Testaments, seeking the harmony of complete scriptural testimony (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).

The Chicago Bible Students are a non-denominational Christian congregation committed to the doctrines and principles conveyed in the Bible. It is our conviction that the Bible is the word of God and must be shared with others. That is the purpose of this website. In the materials we offer, you will see a common thread as we declare that God has a plan that will someday “bless all the families of the earth.” It is with faith in the ransom price that we pray for Christ’s kingdom to lift the curse first placed on our race through father Adam. Because our motive in creating this site is not profit, all material is sold at cost or is freely downloadable.

We believe each individual is responsible to personally study and prove the interpretation of the Bible for himself (2 Timothy 2:15). We strongly recommend topical Bible study as the best means of arriving at God’s meaning on each subject and provide study aids to that end. We support continual Bible reading on a personal basis.

We welcome all to share with us in the study of God’s Word. There is no organization to join or creed to affirm. We encourage and help each other to develop a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe, who is calling a “people for his name” (Acts 15:14). Our services are as simple as those of the early church. Our congregation benefits from the prayer support of one another and our fellowship is warm and friendly.

How We Are Organized

Guided by Faith, Not Headquarters

Independent Congregation

  • Our local congregation is completely independent, with no central headquarters.
  • We cooperate with other independent congregations in our international fellowship.

Biblical Structure

  • We follow the early church model, holding annual elections for elders, deacons and committees.
  • Elections are based on scriptural qualifications from 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

No Church Buildings

  • We own no real estate or church buildings.
  • Meetings are held in private homes or rented facilities.

No Collections

  • We do not take collections.
  • Whenever an activity is planned, unsolicited donations are always enough to cover costs.
