“And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed… and it shall stand for ever.” – Daniel 2:44
The turmoil and unrest seen throughout the world are not random events, but part of a prophetic struggle between the present order under Satan and the incoming Kingdom of God under Christ. Scripture describes our age as a “time of trouble, such as never was” (Daniel 12:1), revealing mankind’s inability to establish lasting peace and righteousness apart from God. Wars, social upheaval, and the exposure of corruption demonstrate the failure of human governments and the need for Christ’s righteous rule.
The Bible foretold that the kingdoms of this world would ultimately give way to God’s everlasting Kingdom. Through Nebuchadnezzar’s prophetic image, Daniel showed that human empires would decline until they are replaced by a kingdom “which shall never be destroyed” (Daniel 2:44). Though the transition is accompanied by conflict and distress, God’s purpose is not chaos, but the removal of injustice and the establishment of a better order.
Scripture also points to the restoration of Israel as a sign of these times. God promised to regather His people from among the nations and preserve them despite opposition (Jeremiah 30:11; Ezekiel 20:33–34). Jerusalem would become a “burdensome stone” to the nations (Zechariah 12:3), yet God’s covenant purposes for Israel remain unchanged.
For believers, these events are a reminder that human solutions cannot bring lasting peace. The hope of the world rests in the coming Kingdom of Christ, when truth and righteousness will prevail, and all nations will learn God’s ways. Though the present battle between two worlds is marked by turmoil, it will ultimately give way to a time of peace, justice, and blessing for all mankind.
