All truths, both in the natural world and spiritual dimensions, belong to God. Deuteronomy 29:29, ‘“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” The purpose of revealed knowledge is to help us obey and worship God “in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)
In the physical world, the evidence of God’s laws is there for all to see. “The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork.” (Psalm 19.) However, even here God opens peoples’ minds in His own due time. Mankind has been trying to unlock the secrets of the universe for millennia but suddenly our understanding of the natural laws has skyrocketed. Daniel 12:4 prophesied this increase in knowledge as a result of the Lord’s intervention during the end times.
Respecting moral truths, when God created Adam and Eve, He wrote the laws of love and justice in their hearts. Romans 2:14-15 (ESV), “For when Gentiles…by nature do what the law requires…they show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them.” Moral leaders over the centuries have returned to God’s law written within them.
Hebrews 11:6 explains the first basic steps to attain spiritual wisdom. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” So first, you must believe in the Lord God and then have faith that He will answer your prayer for knowledge.
Jesus further instructed, “I (Jesus) am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me,” John 14:6 (NKJV). The only way to find God is through His appointed way, through Jesus. “It is impossible for God to lie” about this or about anything! ( Hebrews 6:18)
Any living before Jesus’ birth could appreciate some natural and moral truths. Spiritual truths were revealed in the Law. After Jesus’ first advent, all seeking spiritual truths must eventually approach God through Jesus.
