Chapter 8

What God’s Earthly Kingdom Will Be Like

With this summary of God’s overall plan, let us now note a few of the many scriptures that describe the blessings of what the Earthly Kingdom of God will be like In

Isaiah 35:1-10 we are promised:

The desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened.
And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Then will the lame, leap like a deer.
And the mute tongue will shout for joy.
Water will gush forth in the wilderness.
And the ransomed of the LORD will return.
They will enter Zion with singing.
Everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them.
And sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Isaiah 11:6 NIV — “The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.”

Isaiah 11:9 — “They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain [Kingdom], for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD [Jehovah], as the waters cover the sea.”

Micah 4:3, 4 NIV — “They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Every man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the LORD Almighty has spoken.”

Isaiah 25:7-9 RSV — “He will destroy on this mountain [or King- dom] the covering that is cast over all peoples, the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth; for the LORD has spoken. It will be said in that day, ‘Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.’”

Now we can understand more clearly what Haggai 2:6-8 referred to when it prophesied, “And the desire of all nations shall come!” After the shaking trouble of Armageddon, truly, “the desire of all nations shall come” in God’s glorious Kingdom!
