We have witnessed the fulfillment of both of these signs indicating we are in “the time of the end.”

Think for a moment of how fast knowledge is increasing. The accumulated knowledge of mankind up to the year 1750 AD had doubled by the year 1900, a period of 150 years. It redoubled again in just 50 years by 1950, again in 10 years by 1960, and again in 8 years by 1968. Now, it is increasing so fast that today the amount of information and knowledge in the world is doubling every 18 months. IBM predicts that in the next couple of years, information will double every 11 hours!

It is difficult to comprehend this rate of growth but think of the countless inventions that have taken place in just a little over 100 years: the telephone, electric light, automobiles, sound recording, radio, television, jet airplanes, modern appliances, computers, space travel, trips to the moon, cell phones. Changes are occurring so rapidly that most of us cannot keep up. Now, wonder of wonders, we have the global Internet with information available from any part of the world instantly. With the press of a button, we gain access to information regarding virtually any subject or product under the sun. Another marvel is how we can now get precise travel directions via GPS Satellite navigation. This “increase of knowledge” was one of the signs Daniel gave us of the nearness of God’s Kingdom.
